Two things are needed to have our Lord close to us-leading us and never leaving us:
a heart that loves truth above all, and a soul ready to sacrifice (its own self-interest) for others.
...
There are three kinds of people:
those who wrestle with God and ‘win’;
those who never cared to meet God;
and a third group, the only blessed one: those who wrestle with God and ‘lose’.
(I am not sure which one is more unfortunate:
the first group who proudly ‘won’ with its rational mind over its mystical Creator,
or the second one who, out of great ignorance, never even wanted to meet with Him.)
...
God is Love. We do not Know Him; We do not understand Love.
We are in the process of learning it, becoming part of Him…
We will never understand it completely, not even eternity is long enough for it.
In other words, we will continue in eternity to become more like God, more close to Him, which makes understanding more complete.
But we will never become God.
